Wood Flooring Installation

“Steve Lawson was recommended to me by a wood flooring company some 10 years ago, and this has proven to be one of the best introductions I have ever had in my working life. Steve is an exceptionally skilled and experienced craftsman and, having employed him on each of my wooden floor installations over those ten years, is the only person I would trust to provide the very high level of finish that I need. Steve is totally trustworthy, reliable, and would never leave a project that he, or the customer, feels is less than perfect. I wholeheartedly recommend him for wooden floor laying and for floor refurbishment.”

Nick Bishop, London Property Developer

“I have known Steve for over 15 years and used him on many of my own projects.

In my opinion Steve does what it takes to get the job done to a very high standard and does not cut corners, he gets it right regardless of what’s involved and is very tidy about his work.”

Russell Calder, International Marketing Director, Havwoods

“After contacting 3 contractors who all said that our badly weathered and stained oak floor needed sanding and then lacquering, which we didn’t want to do at such vast expense nor with the mess and disruption. It was therefore a pleasure to hear from Charnwood that the floor could be renovated with an industrial cleaner, localised sanding and then re-oiled.

On our return the floor was stunning, almost better than when it was first laid and if we need any further advice it will be from Steve. He also gave us full details on the continuing care for the surfaces, which the original supplier and contractor didn’t do!”

Philip & Graham- London

“Steve Lawson fitted two wooden floors for us. He dealt with some difficult problems with ease; started when he said he would, finished sooner than expected and kept everywhere clean and tidy throughout.

I was very impressed with Steve’s eye for detail. He carefully selected the next plank so that the overall colour and effect was beautiful. The edging and finishing were expertly done and he had excellent knowledge of what treatments to apply and the floors are wonderful. I would recommend Steve to everyone, I was lucky to come across him.”

Judy Hilton

“Charnwood has fitted floors in a couple of properties for us and, quite simply, we would never use anyone else. In fact, we couldn’t recommend them more highly: meticulous, prompt and pleasant to have around. They understand the importance of the subfloor preparation, absolutely never cut corners and are meticulous in their work.”

Jane Breddy

“Steve has fitted a considerable amount of our timber flooring. He’s an expert floor fitter with an eye for detail; our customers have been very pleased with his work. Steve is personable, reliable and happy to go the extra mile to make sure the customer is happy. Stirling guy!”
